The view is probably one of the best things at the restaurant. I only wish I could have sat on the patio, instead of the over-airconditioned (on a 68 degree day!) back dining room where the shades don't really cut it blocking the evening sun.

The food is truly mediocre, especially considering much better options in downtown Long Beach

Saturday afternoon, walk in. Three barber chairs, all empty. "Oh sorry we're over booked today next availability isn't until next Tuesday." Where are all your barbers?

Now been there twice. Food is delicious. Get anything conch if you can! The service is a little spotty, but both times we went at slightly off hours, so I'm willing to forgive.

Our condo association has had nothing but headaches & terrible service from Tenleytown Trash. Their employees take little care with the trash & recycling when they empty the totes and as result we constantly have trash and in particular glass shards strewn about in our alley.

Tenley insisted on giving us 6 trash totes & 2 recycling, even though we told them we have a lot of recycling AND trash is picked up more frequently. It took 3 separate phone calls and several months to get to a 5 to 3 ratio and finally to 4 trash & 4 recycling.  One of the "new" recycling cans was half the size of the others, and the 2nd one had a broken wheel & a big crack on the side that let smaller things fall out.

Then the people who pick up the trash didn't pay any attention and started leaving our hard-fought additional recycling cans at other buildings on our street.

The communication is terrible, the service is terrible. We're so glad to be ending our contract with them this month, and hopeful for the new people.

Great coffee, beautiful space, friendly owners. Nice to see a local coffee shop in downtown Richmond.

Having just received some awesome cuff links from a friend who was getting married that day, I walked out of Purdy's Coffee (yelp.com/biz/purdys-coff…), thinking "where can I go to get a French cuffed shirt?" and literally did a double take as a passed Jett & Hall, a mere two doors down. "A gentleman's clothing store? Why yes please."

The older gentleman working was, as one might expect, rather dapper and very friendly.  I told him what I was looking for and he quickly and deftly measured my neck size and arm length.  He went straight to what appeared to an unorganized wall of shelves stacked with folded and packaged shirts and pulled out exactly what I needed.

He unpacked the shirt, pulled out all the pins keeping it folded, handed it to me and motioned to the changing room in the back.  The shirt fit perfectly.  Sure, it cost me a little more than had I gone to Kohls or TJ Maxx, but I was happy to support this old-school local business, and get exactly what I needed without the hassle of sorting through hundreds of shirts in disarray.

As others have said, great to have a real sit-down restaurant in Navy Yard, though you do have to go looking for it, if you don't already know where it is.
They have a very affordable lunch special ~$12 for a spring roll, miso soup and entree.  I went with coworkers and everyone seemed very satisfied with their food.  I had the Basil Fried Rice which was quite good.  Not life changing, but very good Thai food, and a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Can't speak to their baked goods, but the biscuits and gravy were pretty darn tasty, especially for $3.  A huge to-go box filled with bread and sausage gravy goodness.  Mmm mmm.

Beautiful Beers is a cozy little shop in Bury St. Edmunds, right on the way from the train station into the town center (or centre for you UK natives).  They have a fantastic selection of beers from all over the world, but in particular from Belgium, and various parts of the UK.  The owner is extremely knowledgeable, he explained the genesis of the India Pale Ale beer style, and made several excellent recommendations, including the appropriate chilled temperatures for each beer.  If I hadn't been flying back to the US in a few days, I would have bought more than just the few bottles I did.  Highly recommend!

A gem in the middle of Chevy Chase. Don't be fooled by the small store front, they have anything you're looking for, short of a new refrigerator.  Remember, this is a hardware store, not a home renovation showroom.
Also, parking schmarking.  It's a neighborhood hardware store. The beauty of it, is it's easy to walk to you. If you want a place with easy parking, go do donuts around the Home Depot and enjoy the neighborhood ambience of 6 acres of asphalt.
